Tomorrow is the night

September 17, 2007 09:00AM

Can you believe this? I know many who will read this would have already seen Genesis on this tour. But for me it is tomorrow. Fifteen years of waiting and hoping are now over. I haven't post much in the last couple of week so let me do a round up real quick.

I have been able to listen to all three Encores that I currently have. Rome is very good but the sound and the band's performance would have to be ranked higher for the Manchester show. So I am ranking the three that I have as follows:
1.) Manchester
2.) Rome
3.) Paris
Now this is not to say that Paris isn't a good show. In fact I think it is but I just the other two higher.

Now jokingly with Tara I have been calling the period we are in "The Genesis 13", which means 13 days of Genesis. It started Friday night on September 14th at the Keswick Theater in Glenside Pa. There was saw Turn it on Again with Martin Levac. At first I thought this is not a good sign as the band equipment did not make the trip because it got held up in customs. But as they say "the show must go on" and it did. Considering they were using borrowed equipment they still but on a great show. It was amazing and I hope they come back with the real stuff. Those who left and got a refund lost out in my opinion.

The next item is concerning the 2nd show of the three nights in Philly. This past Wednesday while I was golfing after work I got a text message from Tara. Apparently we had won the front row contest (which I admit forgot and didn't think we would win). I am so pumped up for that. Now we had already paid for tickets for that show. So coincidently we went to a benefit on Saturday September 15 and we donated the already paid for tickets to the event. The event was to help my niece (my youngest brother's little girl). The benefit was to raise money because during birth there complications and now my sister-in-law really can't work and help out with the bills. The event was a success and I watched people put worth of raffles toward the tickets. I had the honor of drawing the winning tickets and it was a gentleman who won that did just that. Put all his raffle money toward the tickets. To me that meant more then winning front row tickets. It was Tara's idea and an easy decision really. I am proud that she is my wife.

The last thing is of course the concert itself. Tomorrow is the day and I am working only a half day tomorrow. We are taking our moms to the concert. It is going to be so much fun. There is a group tailgate party at the arena and it is going to be so much fun. Since I will be away from my computer I will not report anything until Wednesday morning.

Until then...

12 days to Philly night 1.

September 06, 2007 01:35PM

This is exciting to know that the North American part of the tour starts tomorrow. We are only 12 days to the first one in Philly. I will be spending less time on the forums in case Genesis change the set list. I have all 3 encore shows I ordered. So I know what the set lists are from them. There are rumors that they may change it up slightly for the cities that have multiple shows. That is a very good thing from a fan point of view and from band point of view. They are throwing out there different songs to their fans. I am sure people will complain about them as well. I am just happy that they are willing to change it up. Now if they could just get the encore approval for the North American tour then there is a reason to buy those shows.

Speaking of Encore, I mentioned that I have all 3 recording in my possession that I ordered. They are Paris, Manchester, and Rome. I have not listened to Rome just yet so I can't speak of that one. I will say that Paris sounds pretty good but Manchester sounds even better. In terms of the band it is the same thing. The band seemed to have it together in Manchester. The crowd seemed into it. If someone had to order just 1 CD I would recommend Manchester over Paris. Now I have not heard Rome or any other show so I can't speak about them.

Until next time...

22 days to night 1 in Philly

August 27, 2007 03:08PM

I know all of us fans are in the same boat. But just think about it, going from May 31st 1992 until now to wait for your favorite band to play in front you. That is a shy over 15 years. In those 15 years we had Phil announce he was leaving the band. Tony and Mike said they found a new singer. The album comes out (which I think it really good) but the tour is cancelled in the North America. Then from that point on we had almost every rumor possible.

Now I am 22 days away. Some of us are less then that but this is going to be a very exciting time for us North American fans.
