A New Year

Wow! It's hard to believe that it's been 3 months since I've seen Genesis, and it's still a pretty emotional ride when I think about it. At least we have the live DVD and final studio boxset to look forward to.

I became a fan back in 83/83 with the shapes album. During the 80's it was a comfort knowing they were all putting out material consistantly. There was always something new from Mike, Tony, Phil, Peter, and Steve. The 90's started off well, but in the end it seemed as though Genesis would be gone, and the members solo material was starting to dry up as well. After the CAS tour got cancelled in the US, and I wouldn't get to see them again. It took some time, but I had come to terms with the fact that Genesis for practical purposes had been laid to rest.

Then when the announcements had been made of a new tour. I couldn't believe it. I was so thrilled to get the chance to see my heros again. It was truely an awesome experience along with meeting some of the other biggest Genesis fans around, and sharing the experience with my wife, who has become an even bigger Genesis fan.

2007 was an incredible year, where Genesis had come back big and the feeling I had of them being around when I was growing up in the 80's had come back, but now those feelings are fading again.

Almost Time To Go

I started my vacation one day early. Today I've been packing and getting everything ready go for my Genesis trip! Tomorrow we leave for Cleveland! We're staying at the Radisson by The Q. I don't know how I'm gonna sleep tonight, but I'm gonna try!

I don't know if anyone else here does this or not, but I've started making some videos and putting them on Youtube. I've had this camera phone and I made 2 with videos from it. I finally found a program that lets me convert the files from the cell phone video format so I can edit and upload them into finished videos. It takes some time to edit them, but it's a lot of fun. I'm "1971Rhino" on YouTube.
